Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Latent Reasoning (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit the publication, create an account, subscribe, or contact us.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, including your email address, optional name, support messages, and subscription choices. We also process account and authentication records, session and security data, subscription and entitlement status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, and limited technical information such as IP address, device or browser information, request timestamps, and security events. Stripe processes payment-card details; we do not receive or store complete card numbers.
How we use information
We use personal information to authenticate readers, provide and protect paid access, process and reconcile subscriptions, operate the publication and interactive research modules, respond to requests, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, maintain audit and publication integrity, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use reader information to provide individualized investment advice.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate the publication: Vercel for application hosting, Neon for the application database, Cloudflare R2 for private artifact storage, Resend for authentication email, Stripe for billing and customer self-service, and Trigger.dev for background processing. These providers process information for their operational purposes under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a business reorganization.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and comparable browser storage that are necessary for authentication, session continuity, security, and requested application functions. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or sell personal information for advertising. If those practices change, this policy and any required choices will be updated before they are introduced.
Protected research access
Paid report bodies and research artifacts are authorized on the server. Reader credentials, billing identifiers, full signed storage URLs, and authorization state are not intentionally placed in public pages or public artifact locations. Short-lived signed links are bearer credentials and should not be shared.
Retention and security
Authentication sessions normally expire after fourteen days and sign-in links after fifteen minutes. Other account, billing, entitlement, security, audit, and support records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, preserve publication and transaction integrity, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Backups and provider logs may persist for limited additional periods. We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, or object to or restrict certain processing, by emailing author@latent-reasoning.com. We may verify your identity and may retain information where required for security, billing, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or immutable publication records. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including appeal or complaint rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a legally protected privacy right.
International processing and children
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version; material changes will be presented through the service or by email when appropriate. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to author@latent-reasoning.com.
